2024 Winter Soulstice

Every year on the first night of December, strange and colorful streaks of light called the Soul Paths begin to dance among the night sky.
These trails are a mysterious phenomenon that originate in Medius, and are rarely seen in other parts of the world during their initial formation.

Entranced by the beauty of the paths, the residents of Medius have created their own tradition of self-discovery - the Winter Soulstice.
Shortly after appearing, a Soul Path may spiritually reach out to a lost soul, compelling them to follow with its mystical presence.
The journey of a Soul Path is not one to be taken lightly. Ghouls may only travel at night when the paths are visible against the darkened sky, and often take multiple weeks to reach their destination.

A Soul Path's destination can be a variety of things; it may lead to someone the traveller knew in their past life, or a place to make themselves a new home.
Most often, however, it assists in guiding its chosen soul to find whatever they feel is missing from their life.

Ghouls who were not touched by a Soul Path will usually set up festive lights on trees to guide travellers, or make safe destinations for the weary to rest at.

Some Ghouls seem to remember a similar event being called the "Aurora Borealis" in their previous life... what a strange name!
